| About me |
I am 39, and happily married to Suzanne Walker Lank. We have been married for 14 years and have two beautiful children - Maggie (5) and Santiago (4). We live in Northern Virginia and regularly worship at Annandale United Methodist Church. Please join us when you are in the area. My hobbies are, reading magazines and newspapers (online and print), watching televised sports, visiting family, surfing the net, and keeping up with the latest trends in the Information Technology field. My favorite professional sports teams are all from Philadelphia, the Phillies, Eagles, and 76ers.
I'm a Unix Systems Administrator by trade and have designed, installed, and administered Solaris, HP-UX, AIX, and Linux environments in the last 17 years. I am a HP Certified HP-UX 11/11i Professional, Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), Sun Certified Solaris 8 Administrator (SCSA), IBM pSeries AIX 5L System Administration Certified, and enjoy working with Unix and Linux. Please see my resume for more information. I graduated from James Madison University with a B.B.A. degree in Computer Information Systems in 1992.
Suzanne and I met while on a mission trip with the United Methodist campus ministry at JMU, and later married after she had finished her degree. Suzanne is a Reading Curriculum Specialist for Alexandria City Public Schools. She enjoys working with young children and sees her work as a mission to better the society of tomorrow. We have always had a desire to go into the mission field for an extended period, and we decided to set out in that direction for a year (June 1999 - June 2000). We served as volunteer missionaries in Iquique, Chile as an English teacher and Computer Consultant for a Methodist-run school.
I am originally from Milton, Delaware and travel back every so often to see my family who still live in that area. I have one sister - Susan who lives in Yardley, PA, and one brother - Tom who lives in Princeton, NJ. I am the oldest of us three.
